Discus keep eating eggs

Hi, I have a discus pair that are spawning but they keep eating the eggs.
I thought I was clever and put some gutter guard around the cone after their latest batch,
but on the second day they managed to eat the push the gutter guard mesh close enough to the cone and ate them again. I'm getting a little frustrated coz I really want this to be successful.
They will be nice fish.
Any ideas will be appreciated.

A better guard :) or acrylic tube with both sides open and a air stone in it or cut a plastic water jug
