hi guys

have just obtained 2 young discus, about 3-4 m.o, from the same seller, but different tanks. one was a stunning red turq for its age, in a tank with one other discus, being picked on etc, but was a beautiful fish so i chose him (or her) all the same. the other was a blue snakeskin? (hard to tell at this age) a tank with approx 10 other fish, and is possibly a bit younger.

when i got the two home, the fish that was being picked on has now turned on the other fish and harrassing it to no end. they have been in my tank for just over a day, and the snakeskin is relatively unphased, no major fin damage etc, but the bickering is frustrating to watch. how long should i wait before simply accepting that the turq has a bad temperament, or is it possible that this will settle down??

How many discus have you got in that tank. Two is a very bad number to keep in one tank, unless they are a mated pair. Much better if you can have 3 or more, then the aggression is spread between them all.
