co2 and discus

i have a 5/2/2 and im thinking putting a co2 unit on my tank...
any info would b grate

make sure u got enough CO2 for such a big tank
vertilizer under gravel would be really good for the plants

Jonesy, what sort of unit did you have in mind? There are solid blocks, CO2 gas and home made bottles containing yeast mixture.

i dont know much about the systems ... just that thay make your plants grow...

i was thinking of a gas bottle system...

they are very cheap in the states but they are expensive here due to new laws specifying who can sell them

You can hire co2 food grade gas canisters from BOC.

what about an old fire extinguisher ... u can get co2 ones... maybe a diy project coming up

Your best bet would be to buy a needle valve and hire a BOC canister.

I tried to go down the old fire extinguisher route and found it too hard.

You need a quell fire extinguisher and it needs too have been test recently i think its 12months (I think), the extinguisher needs too be for co2 dont get a power extinguisher and then try too fill it with co2 it has too be made for co2.. Needle valves can be found online and solenoids arnt hard too find. Then you can whip up your own reactor..
