want to make own food

hey all i want to make my own food but i dont have a mincer or food processor,i was wondering what you guys out there use.
i want to do it as cheap as possible but want to do it propery,so what do you guys suggest,can i get away with a hand meat grinder??

I use a $40 hand operated mincer from robins. Works fine. I only do 2kg at a time though.
