Hey Guys,
Looking at getting an Eheim 2260 for my new 5 footer. I know its slightly over kill, but you can never have enough filtration.
Has anyone used the 2260 before and what are your thoughts on it. Good, bad or whatever.
Cheers
Rob

Hey Guys,
Just a question, would 2 x 2217s have the same effect as a 2260? Ive noticed that the 2260 uses more watts to run but that doesnt mean alot and I know if I run 2 x 2217s with alternating water changes I wont get the possibilty of a tank cycle. Thoughts?
Cheers
Rob

depending on your system, eg. fish only or planted, large fish or small fish gravel or not these filters if strategically placed can do a perfect job, just remember one thing ie. that whatever you put in your aquarium it will displace water meaning less oxygen for your fish and less water needed to be filtered by your filter, the fish load will also diminish, hope to have been of some help, cheers.

a 2260 would be way over kill for a 5 footer, 2x 2217's would be more then enough.
kinda hard to justify te 2260 now that the 2080 is available.

Thanks giorid.

Jothy can you please clarify, alway thought the classics where beter than the Pro's. Time tested. I've noticed that the 2080's use less juice and have separation trays. Sell me on the 2080's

65w vs 30w
as mentioned media trays much easier to clean
massive media capacity
integrated prefilter for easy quick cleaning
dual intakes for better circulation
adjustabe flow rate
2260 is a BEAST but its getting hard to justify especially as it shipts with no double taps and the eheim ones cost $150 for the 25mm intake
