As the heading states does anyone use Indian Almond Leaves consistantly for Discus? I keep reading its a good way to lower PH but cant find too many people using them for Discus. Betta and Apisto keepers tend to use it more consistantly but from what i know Discus, Betta and Apistos benefit from similar conditions?
Is there an issue with the water quality once they start breaking down?

I don't worry too much about ph unless I am breeding some fish. When I bred them I ran the product water from an RO into a deionization column and collected the reagent grade water. This water would be reconstituted and then pumped a day later into the breeder tank. pH was about 6.0 and around 120 microsiemens. Why? Toxins in the water will affect fry long before an adult. Just a precaution.
