I don't know about the best way but I use invisible thread. I've heard a better way is superglue as it sets on contact with water and isn't toxic. Havent tried this myself yet but am planning to.

Super glue is the way to go, it sets quickly and you don't need much. The plants roots quickly wrap themselves onto the wood or rock. It's a lot harder using cotton to get it to hold the plant firmly in place and if you don't get it right the plant won't grip onto the wood.

Super glued to wet wood??

thanks,Dave

You can do it with DW that's wet Dave. I've done it many times now and haven't had one lift off yet. I just use cheap the super glue from my local 'reject shop'.

Simply press a dry tea towel on the area to remove the surface water, apply glue to the area and press/hold the plant on for a couple of minutes.

You'll find the excess glue may dry white, but it's not toxic and covers quickly.
