Strange eating habit

One of my discus (the smaller of my two in the tank) has started an odd habit. It will eat a bloodworm (not live) and then spit it out. It has only just started doing this. Is this something to be concerned about or just a normal thing?.

all discus will do this from time to time have you just started feeding him on the blood worms what about all his other food does he do the same..

fish cant chew so its not uncommon with harder food like bloodworm for them to do this, my altums do it when my beefheart mix is added frozen. it just helps them break it up.
