Hey Guys,
Looking at buying a raw pine cabinet/stand for my fish tank.
The question is, is there a specific type of paint that I need to use, keep in mind that the air pump will be located inside the cabinet and I dont want to be pumping paint fumes into the tank.
Cheers

Nope.. Once the thinner gases off to atmosphere during the drying process it's all good.
Why not consider getting a separate stain and clear lacquer so you can highlight the wood grain? Doing it this way gives far better control of the depth of colour you achieve with your stain. Once you're happy with the depth of colour simply seal it with the clear lacquer which brings the tone of the stain out..
Try a little test piece and you'll see what I mean.

Instead of clear lacquer,I'd use clear Polly Urathaine it sets hard and gives a glass like finish if u do it properly.Ive do some French polishing in my younger days just remember to give a light sand using 120-150 grit paper between each coat.

Thanks guys, appreciate the response, I get a couple small pieces of pine and give both ideas a crack.
