I like to know how much I expect to pay for wild discus ie Heckel, Green and Brown? I am still maturing my new tank and hopefully it will be ready in 6 weeks time. I like to get some wild discus then.

They are available occasionally (refer SLS) but can be pricey compared to the regular strains we see.

Although a tank of wilds would be awesum...

Prices will vary with any discus.. Wilds are hard to come by sometimes, and therefore will fetch a higher price. If your lucky enough too buy when there are a few around then you might get it at a decent price....

Wow that is a wide range ($60 - $600). I have never seen wild discus for $60 or $600. 15 years ago I bought wild heckels for $120, green was selling for $150. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.
Thanks for the info.

$120 to $150 is still about right for most wilds that we see here in oz, although there is a big diffrence between say a rsg with a few red spots and one covered in rows of red spots and green stripes. Also common heckels aren't that expensive but a really good blue face heckel could be 3 or 4 times the price.

Hi !
In my view there are wild discus, caught straight from the wild and there are wild type discus.
Wild type discus are closer to wilds, in appearance but have been bred in captivity thus making them easier to look after.
