I have the 3000 and it is great.
I have a filter pad under it to reduce vibrations as it is in the sump.
The variable flow control works well. Mine runs about 50% in a 2' sump for a 5x2hx1.5 discus tank. Head height about 1.5m but no obvious reduction in volume.
Pump never cleaned in 2 years of working.
The sump is a little noisy but because of the water from the spinner, not the pump.
Mine doesn't have the Aust 240v plug, just adapter.
To get the best from any pump, use the largest output fitting supplied and tubing to match. You want water volume, not pressure.

5000 is AWESOME!!!!!,
small, quiet, adjustable and runs forever no fuss.
IT HAS LESS HEAD HEIGHT THEN THE EHEIM UNIVERSAL 1260 (hmax 3.5m)
so try and keep the max head to under 1.8m and you wont have a problem (hits its limits at ~2.2-2.4m), pretty much a dream pump for a 800-1200L tank
