Eheim 2180 Problem

I have an Eheim Pro 3 2180 and I am having a problem with it. Every so often the lcd screen is saying dEF and I have no idea why or what it means. I can not find anything on the internet or in the manual about it, can anyone solve this mystery for me? .. thanks!
