Discus growth rate...

Okay so I havent been around recently...but i still miss every1. Between changing states I live in, being in school & starting a new job I have been really busy.

Okay so my question is.... how long does it take a discus 2 reach it full growth size if they r in a planted tank? My mom has 3 or 4 in a 75 gallon planted tank & does water changes @least twice a week. She has had them 4 about a yr now an they were about 2 1/2 inches, now they are about 3 1/2 inches. Some1 told her they should be full grown after about a yr. Is this right?

I know every1 has different results with their fish but surely there is an average growth rate. They eat really well & dont appear 2 be stunted.

The high levels of organics in a planted tank will inhibit growth your better off to get bigger fish or grow them up in a bare bottom tank first.

Discus being cold blooded will grow from birth till the day they die but I'd expect them to be adult size after 18-24 months
