Couldn't afford a Ducati, and wasn't paying cult status $$ for a TLR but really wanted a big twin.

I'm hoping to do a couple of advanced rider courses early next year when work calms down a bit. Might have a go at a track day myself after that..

Track days are great, just gotta remember they are track days not race days. You still wanna ride it on Monday as well.
And steer clear of the d heads that think they're stoner or rossi!
Most ride worse than the local postie!

I thought it was faster to drag with both wheels on the ground :P

Sounds great, you definately can't beat the exhaust note of a big twin

Your pic isn't showing up for some reason George - or is it just me?

SLS

Keeping both wheels on the ground is the greatest challenge!! And it still ran a 11.0sec flat time.....

Couldn't wipe the smile off my face when the Termignoni's and chip were fitted.. Love the sound. Reminds me of the grunt my old XC Coupe 351 V8 gave.

I'll get the original photo shortly and re post it.

It's good to see someone giving their Duc' a proper run.. I've lost count of the number of times I've been smoked by a Duc' owner on the straight sections only to nearly go through them at the next corner. Too expensive to drop one I guess :P

For those that weren't watching the telecast this afternoon, Marco Simoncelli was killed after a horrific accident on the 2nd lap.

His bike lost the front end that he faught to save. Unfortunately his front wheel regained traction only to spear him across into the path of both Edwards and Rossi.

From the limited replays it appears that Edwards possibly struck him in the back and Rossi hit him in the head while trying to avoid the incident. The force was severe enough to tear the helmet from Simoncelli's head and he was left sliding down the track face down and unconcious.

Neither of the trailing riders could have done anything to avoid the situation.

My thoughts go out to the Simoncelli family, they have lost a great young guy. My thoughts also go out to Edwards and Rossi and hope they do not lay blame on themselves.

The sport has lost a great young competitor.

RIP Marco :salute

100% certain I'm sad to say. Be warned that if you're a fan of motorcycles this isn't pleasant to watch.

That incident is Insane. I switch over last night to see the race was "Red Flagged" and though I would watch the IQ recording later, then a news flash came up after Underbelly reporting the MotoGP grieving the loss of Simoncelli.

Absolutely Horrific to loose your helmet, I cant understand how that can happen.

RIP Marco!!

I think the footage says it all George.. just a freakish chain of events.
The commentators were saying that turn 11 is a 3rd gear corner at around 140-150k's. Obviously the impact took place after the apex of the corner where the following riders were back in the throttle so who knows what spped they were doing by that point..
So sad to think that 99% of time that front end lose would have seen him slide out and away from the turn, not back across it..
