Hi guys,
Can you advise is a 4 x 54 watt T5HO in a single casing enough for a 4x2x2 ft tank growing glosso or HC? If not, how many tubes should I be using or should I be considering LED or MH?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,

sounds fine to me, even twin t5ho would be fine, most important for HC and glosso IME is good soil, and 2bubbles/sec of c02 diffused in the water flow. 8 hrs of light is plenty, just be sure the c02 goes off with the light... for dark hours you can use an air pump if you have fish, no need for shrimp.
hope this helps.

With co2 you won't have a problem. George from SLS set up a really nice ADA tank with glosso and just a twin 54W T5 and the growth has been great.

Thanks guys. I was worried the T5 can't penetrate through to the bottom.

with a hood to help beam the light down and decent reflectors it wont be a problem, after adding my hood i had to turn off 2 of my 54w t5s due to algae, i'll post pics of it with just the 2 54w's running you'll see theres no problem, my tank is also 2 foot deep
