Discus lipstick. Comes in 5 different shades!

Just wondering if anyone elses discus ever got bloody lips.

The other day, my two smaller ones (red melon and marlbaro) were really going at it. Like kids (or even adults) fighting in the playground. Both ended up with bloody lips from the fight.

Sorry, havent got any pictures to show everyone. But even though it was bad, it looked really cute when they are both "kissing" eachother :) Not to mention they look ridiculous with lipstick :D

That's classic. And some people don't believe discus are really cichlids :wink:

have heard of lip damage but never lip sticl looking damage....lol

maybe add rock salt at 1 tblspn per 40ltrs (replace with w/c) for a few days to help them recover.

if they continue to fight you may have to seperate them or remove one

My juvies do that as well neither want to give up the fight but mine dont get bloody lips though. Mine also tail slap each other I have to laugh when I see them doing that. :lol:

The fighting doesnt happen very often, only second time in 3 months i think. Generally its just chasing without contact.

They both got red lips from the fight. Also, they both have already recovered within 2 days.

Haha, I also think its funny when they tail slap eachother. Angry loving.
