I'm about to get a 6x2x3 tank with a custom cabinet

and i think the entire weight of it including water, gravel, rocks etc..
will reach nearly a tonne..

has anyone worried whether the foundation of the house can or cannot support it?

my dad mentioned this to me..

my house is sitting on a concrete foundation but im worried that if a tonne of wieght is focused on a certain point, the ground underneath might sink or it might cause a crack in the foundation..

or am i just overly paranoid..? :?
lets hope im wrong..

Regards
Eric

I have an 8x2x2 on a concrete foundation and never had any problems. It is next to a wall, so I believe the concrete is thicker there, but the builder knew it was for a fish room and also knew the size of the tank. He didn't suggest it needed any reinforcing, so the concrete is standard thickness.

Not a worry with concrete, i had a 6x18x18 on wooden foundations and still didnt have a problem.. Just run them along the foundations not with them....

the other alternative is to sell all your belongings and buy a huge industrial shed, industrial slab of course

add a 10 X 2 X 2 (meters of course) and bingo, instant heaven
