Hi all .. need some advice urgently. I have a snakeskin discus that we have had for 2 years, was previously the dominant one in the tank, breeding and an average to small eater.
About a month ago I noticed that he had a bloated stomach (both sides). After researching, thought it could be the freeze dried worms he scoffs and stopped feeding them this. The swelling/bloating has now become lumpy on one side almost like he has swallowed a piece of bark wholly. Tonight i noticed that there is a clear to white blister on the lumpy area.
Whats interesting is that he swims normally, is not hiding and eats like previously.
I have treated the tank with Metro and dewormed them. I am also now treating the tank with Epsom salts, 1 TBSPN / 10 Gallons. I have repeated this daily for three days and just carried out a water change today.
Can anyone shed some light as to what is happening to this fish? All other discus are ok and there have been no new additions to the tank for over 12 months.
