What would you get if...
You put a Pigeon with a Leopard?
the fish version of a mongrel?
I ask because Hera & Hermes are seemingly going through the motion of spawning...
They are protecting the front right corner of the tank, cleaning the glass/silicone and Hera today 'shifted' the thermometer from the area they are interested in... Yep she basically headbutted it till it moved...

not recommended to cross pigeon types with spotted or blue colorforms, no harm in trying... but unfortunately it usually results in heavily peppered offspring.
for some reason (usually)
eruptionXturq (or any other blue form) is fine
pigeon checkerboardXwhite butterfly (or any other pigeon type) is fine
BUT "blue type"(as a term used here only for arguments sake) X pigeon type doesnt seem to work... must be a genetic thing, perhaps someone else here with more breeding experience can help shed some light on this topic?
Good luck all the same.
PS also worth noting 'Hera" may have a bacterial infection (see nostril), shame to let it get worse. Treat with multicure every 3-4 days until cured.
Kind Regards,
EA

Thanks for your thoughts. That photo is about 3mths old and Hera is doing just fine.
I have not purposely paired these 2 off. They just seem to have paired up.
I just thought i'd throw the question up because I had no idea what their fry would turn out like.
I doubt any fry would survive with 11 other hungry discus in their tank...
Swifty,
The leopard is from Marlon, the pigeon is from my LFS.

Glad to hear your pigeon is doing well!
I think your right about fry survival in that tank for sure.
Would be interesting to see them if any did survive though.
Thanks for sharing.
