No Tommo but no canister ever does ...... figure about half whatever they state when the canister is full of media.
Some brands (Eheim pros) do better ...some (fluvals) do worse. I think the Rena's are on the higher side ....
Rena is owned by the Mars family now BTW ....as in Mars bars.

Indeed Matty :) , i was hoping that for an answer , "like yep the flow is great :),or indeed they have a high flow output"

Either way :) i am sure it will do the job along with my 2217 , on a 5x2x2 i am sure both of them will be enough for my plants /fish . I am also thinkn seems i want a fair bit of flow and have a AM1000 reactor ,if i need to i might get an Eheim pump on the reactor only :)

Cheers

I heard he was getting a murray cod, so he had an excuse for getting an even larger tank.

i think that is not correct ! But i could be wrong!

But anyhow :)

Back onto flow rates :)

What most people do not think of , and i very well could be wrong ,but i am 99.9% sure i am right :)

Most filters and pumps ,the advertising works off on the 60hz from the USA , and we use 50hz here in Aus.

So 60/50=1.2
A 5000 liter/hour pump at 60 hz will pump 5000 lt/hr "pump only"
But at 50 Hz it will pump 4166.6 liters/hour :)

Just some thing to keep in mind :)

Open to anyones comments here :)

Depends on the filter most filters are rated for 220/240 50hz first (Ehiems, Fluvals , Rena's) as they are European or Asian.
And no I don't have a Murray cod ...heavens forbid.

I got the Rena XP 3 for my 75 gallon last month and as advertised, after 1/2 hour of use it starting leaking from the power cord to the head. I returned it for a Fluval 406, the newest model, and its been working perfectly so far. I think the Fluval is made much better and the support seems great. Do a Google search of the XP 3 and XP 4 leaking and you'll be surprised. I cannot risk another leak when no one is home and it causes a flood.
