My angels spawned a couple of days ago. This morning when i looked at the eggs on the spawning pipe they looked like they were wrigglign about. I got so exciteed. When i got home i noticed al the eggs were gone and i assumed that the pair had eaten them :( . I was doing soem maintenance cleaning the bottom of the tank and i noticed the parents running around the tank avidly pecking at teh floor. Too my surprise i saw they had actualy hatched(the fry) and teh parents had moved them to another site. My heart then sank when i thought i may have syphoned some out. i returned the water to the tank carefully. Hav etaken some pics and put them up for you to see. The pics of the fry arent the best but its the best i could manage with my cameras macro.
I do have one question. The female has been acting stressed. Sitting on the bottom of the tank in back. Should i move her back to the comunity tank? I had wanted to try and raise the fry with the parents. Do they both need to be in there? The male seems quite capable and seems to know what he is doing.
The male is missing one of his ventrals. He lost it as a juvenile not long after i got him. it was in a spat he had with another angel. Despite this he has become the dominant male of the tank.
Pics will we be up tonight. just waiting for them to upload to photobucket

I'd love to give you some advice mate, but the longest I've lasted with angel fry was 3 days before the parents ate them. I wasn't planning on them mating and had no idea what to do!
Angel fry look awesome though - like an eyeball with a dorsal fin  Good luck with them! Looks like a fantastic tank you've got them in!
And I deny that one of my bristlenose got excited during my water change tonight and got sucked into my change bucket - lucky I notice him! :)

I think Mum is ok.She only seems to hide when i come near the tank. Perhaps she is leavining the protecting of the fry to dad. Its actualy quite cute to see him so defensive. Its a bit of a challenge to leave them enough space to do thier job unhindered, but at the same time watch whats going on. Ill keep posting pics as the grow.

they are looking good
on day 7 they will go free swimming and you will have to have freshly hatched brine shrimp for them otherwise you have bugger all chance of them surviving.
I always start a batch of BBS on the night of day 5 and a second batch on the night of day 6.
free swimming is also when other fish will snack on them and if you have any filter intakes they will also claim a lot of angel lives.
it sounds complicated but it's just a formula that if done at the right times will work with tremendous results.
these vids are aexcellent and will help you

Matzilla is so right . I havent had luck raising my baby angels yet. Artemia is the most important part and thats were I got it wrong. Start hatching shrimp now if you can. That stuff in a bottle thats decapsulated works best. I think its called Atremia revolution I think.
