spawning cones

where can you get the clay spawning cones seen in so many photos of breeding discus. Can other material be used

You can buy them on line just google it .You can also use pvc pipe just weigh it down ,terracotta pot, plastic spagetti container filled with gravel just needs a couple of holes drilled in the top and bottom anything really thats food safe and has a smooth surface .

Both my pairs ignore the expensive terracotta breeding cones in their tanks and use either the PVC pipe for the filter return or the plastic pot I keep the plants in..??

Mine prefer to spawn on the glass. :)

Terracotta pots from bnnings work great and only cost a cople of dollars or so each
