Attached are the pics of the discus shipment arriving next week. All Discus are imported and are of great quality as I only deal with a reputed supplier.
We have been importing discus under aquaticescape.com.au (previously- Finland aquarium- Melbourne) over the past 5 years and probably have the best Discus selection s in Melbourne.

Checked the store out on Sunday and was quietly surprised at what they stocked and how friendly/informative the owner was.

They didn't have a large range of Discus, but what they did have was generally pretty good. Prices were a bit steep tho. The owner did say that they were getting another 300 Discus in on the 14/9, so wait a couple of weeks after that and go and have a look. (Quarantine)

Be mind full, when you arrive at the store go beyond the door, when we got there the wife turned to me and goes in her words "Dodgy".

Over all the store was setup really well, friendly and informative staff and nice fish. Will definitely be going back.

PS. They do stock other fish, and there were some definate bargins to be had if you look.

A bit disappointed :(

Went there on Sunday ready to see heaps and heaps of really nice discus and to purchase a couple of their best.

Got there and there wasn't alot of discus, which leads me to think I was a couple of weeks late or the shipment wasn't as large as I thought it was going to be.

I mentioned to the sales person, that I thought there shipment was going to be larger, he grunted at me and walked off. Lets just say I was completely unimpressed, past experiences were really good.

Anyway was that disappointed, I ended up walking away.

I wouldn't base your decision on one persons' experience. I've shopped at a retailer in Sydney that several have said was 'no good' and needless to say, I was very happy with them and have used them on multiple occassions since.

Try calling the retailer first to ensure they have the stock you're after prior to travelling then form your own opinion.

I am sorry that you were treated that way by my staff. I will have a word to him about this.

Unfortunately I had to move half of my discus in the new shipment back in to Holding tanks outside of my quarantine as my display tanks ended up getting ammonia due to large number of fish. To reduce the risk of stressing the fish, I had to make this difficult decision on Saturday.

When you came in to see the fish on Sunday, most fish were either moved or sold. Next time when you want to come in, please email me and we can arrange a day and time to meet. I will ensure you get better customer service :).

I am 100% sure people who have dealt with us have had positive experiences.

I will bring in more fish to the store when the ammonia levels are down. I still have nearly 80 pcs of discus at my holding tanks outside of quarantine.

Once again, my sincere apologies for the bad experience.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience rburrowes. I've had several dealings with Finland Aquarium over the past four years, and each time I've found Ravi and the staff to be totally professional.

I have even pre-ordered fish, sight unseen, based on a photo or purely Ravi's recommendation. When I've gone to pick up the fish, I've always been totally delighted with both the quality and size of the fish.

Again, I'm sorry for your bad experience.

we went over today but unfortunatly came home empty handed. due to the ammonia spike some of the fish are in treatment tanks and not for sale at the moment. The milenium golds are just stunning looking fish ( I would have had these)as are the albinos. Some nice looking lepoards and red covers as well.
