not using pectoral fin!! help

I have a 2 1/2 in red checker discus not using pec fin! it is just hanging out at about a 45 degree angle. the area where it attatches to the muscle is a little inflamed, and swelled. This is a beautifull fish I would hate to lose him, I am really discouraged right now :cry:

c'mon guys? any ideas? gill flukes? well hes looking grim, the spot is getting a little infected i think. should I seperate him from the other 3 fish? or will that cause unneeded stress? the other 3 dont seem to be affected. :?

if its red excuse my spelling but it is probably bacterial septicaemea. It is potentially lethal if left untreated, and is common in discus especially in the pectoral region. A picture would help
