i have a few discus, and have noticed that one of them has had its fins chewed off. the fish one the bullies of the pack seem to be the shy one.
it is a blue turq, it seems that BN are sucking the coat and fins.

what is the best thing to do to make the fish recover i am already using fin rot and now will be getting rid of the BN!

Ok stop and take a breath. Firstly remove the BN even into a food safe tub and airate / heat as required, you do not need another tank to do this.

Now for the discus , clean clean water, change daily 30% and add some non iodised salt - rock salt is fine from the supermarket.
Dose at 1 level tablespoon per 40litres of water. Remember when you do your water change to only add back the amount you have taken out! Very important.

Discus will tolerate this very well - do not raise temp take all other fish out if there are any. You should start seeing things getting better in about 5 days or so. BUT water quality is the key, salt helps them heal and their immune system can do the rest if they are otherwise healthy fish.
