2217 is a great filter but wont handel a 600L for that size your only real choice for a single filter is a 2260 or a 2080 expect to pay about $600 for either

hi
should have explained myself better, I was going to get one 2217 now and another in a few months, how did you go about changing the media over?
Or can I run 3 filters for a few months until the eheim has been got going?
I have one filter and each end of the tank.
I was told it always best to have two filters running, so if one breaks down at least you have one operating, your thoughts?
Thanks

imo, you can never over filtrate. The only thing to watch out for, specially with Discus is that you do not have 'flow' or 'currents' running around your tank. Discus will get very stressed in flowing water. Disapate the flow into the tank with spraybars faced towards the sides of the tank to disperse the water.
hth

Ok if your keeping other filteres then 2x2217 will be ok. you can just transfer the media over (leave the bioballs behind) or run the 2217 0 the tank for a month with the other filters then phase out pne pf the aquaone 1200's.
