Discus Babies

I have often heard of the crash of Discus babies around the 4 week free swimming stage.
Has anybody been able to actually pinpoint the disease/parasite that actually causes it.

Flukes often get associated with this, and yes, generally there are flukes present. But from what i know, it is caused by a bacterial infestation and and not keeping pristine conditions. Andrew, in his book 'Problems & Solutions' explains all about this on p159. He explains about preventative measures, ie: 1, conditioning your parent fish prior to breeding and 2, direct measure of using Fucin or an AB to cure them. Also the use of PP baths over a period of time (12days) to clean the fish up as the grow.
