We have read posts that say what do use for worms,(in terms of medicine) how to worm, why to worm but not as much as when to worm...
When should we worm or should we worm our discus even though they are showing excellent signs of health.
or if it aint broke dont fix it?
All my fish look healthy, but after seeing a few posts on the subject i thought , could it hurt to worm them?
What are out thouhgts on worming our discus?
should we worm them even though they appear healthy??
I look forward to some feedback,
cheers,
Ben[/b]

When I first get new fish, they are treated for worms and gill flukes in quarantine. I treat again when pairs are to be introduced into the spawning tank to minimize the chances of anything being passed on to the fry. Otherwise, probably around twice a year.

Don't worry Eric. Your fish cannot get hex from being wormed, but some fish do react differently to medication. It's not unusual for them to sulk for a few days after worming. Have you removed all the meds from the tank by water changes or filtering thru carbon, and then throwing the carbon away. They will be back to normal in a few days.

Just a general question with worming, what worming meds are used or recommended?
I’ve seen it in a post a little while back can’t find it at the moment.
Thanks
