Which filter media?

Hi guys. I just bought a Eheim 2217 after it got high recommendations on here from everyone. I already have a sump filter running with bio balls. The Eheim is just to collect any floating particles (mechanical filtration). My question is which colour filter pad do I need to fill the eheim with? Or is it a mixture of different pads?

A few blue pads for corse mech filtration should do it, you could add the provided efhi mech to the bottom for a little extra turbulance, and just a sheet of 2 of white poly wool for the top and you'll have a great mechanical filter.

Hi Illusion. Thanks for your speedy response. Will take your advice. If I put the efhi mech on the bottom it looks like their will be enough room for 3 blue pads and 2 white pads for the top. Does that sound about right to you?

Sounds perfect for a mech filter.
