With regards to Apistogramma trifasciata, and I quote the Mergis Cichlid Atlas here... "Juveniles are slow growing, requiring about 6 months to attain sexual maturity".
I mention this as this subject was briefly discussed in another post. However.... My A.trifasciata juveniles which emerged early July have produced off-spring!!! This does not delight me as it normally would as I am making vast arrangements to my tanks to settle in new arrivals and I could do without the concern. It was / is my intention to cross-breed my two lines and not find myself confronted with this - damn.
So, my expereinces are that A.trifasciata grows pertty much normally AND they "can" attain sexual maturity within a few months.
For what its worth: I have only seen a few fry and it will be interesting to see how many survive.
