OK got the call this morning the new tank is ready for collection.

How exciting let the draining process begin!.

Here's the plan because i am using the origonal cabinet, im going to drain all the water out of the old tank into barrels to pump back into the new tank.

drain tank remove plants and gravel etc. set up the new big bad boy and hopefuly will noe have to many dramas in re introducing fish from theire holiday 3ft tank under the house.

how long should i let it run for before i reintroduce them if im using same water and filtration???

any advice would be appreciated
Thanks Justin

will post some pics soon..

Hey there!

Just treat it like a water change, but while your setting up the new tank make sure the filters are circulating as usual even just in and out of the a bucket to keep the bacteria alive.

Treat your new water as you normally would as you will need to add more as the new tank is bigger. HTH

Nice work Justin. It's always exciting setting up a new tank and your fish seem to have settled in nicely. That monster fish is looking good too mate.

Looks great - you should try and hide some of that ugly equipment with tall and bushy plants then it would look even better!

Thanks mcloughlin

that is the plan now that things have settled in the biggest problem is finding good looking plants here in brisbane they are pretty few and far between. now that the c02 is happening and the new light is doing wonders i think i might try to get ahold of some glosso and blyxa then add a big sword and some amazon to try and fill it up.

what did you think of the yellow i could not resist when i saw them in the shop!!

will keep you posted!!

The yellow is real nice - one of my favourite strains. It's a shame they are so prone to peppering. Fed it some tetra colourbits lightly to get a nice even colour on the body with reduced peppering. (If you don't like peppering)
