Im wondering what everyone uses to adjust their gH and kH in their discus tanks?
Has anyone used Damp Rid (calcium carbonate), Epsom Salts (Magnesium sulfate) and bicarb soda (sodium bicarbonate) before?
If so what was the outcome?

Hi Bart,
I've used Bicarb and it works fine, hard to get the dosage right though - you need to pre-mix the water in a large container. I'm not sure about calcium carbonate - my understanding is it's not soluable for PH > 6 so might not work that well.
Of the three, calcium carbonate will raise both GH and KH. Magnesium Sulphate will raise only GH and Sodium Bicarb only KH.

Yeah thats right Im wanting to raise both kH and gH. Currently both of theses are around 1 degree in my tank.
I should have said that Damp Rid is actually Calcium Chloride which is soluable unlike calcium carbonate.
