Colour of eyes

Hi all,

I have heard people refer to the colour of the eyes, which shows if a discus is healthy or feeling under the weather. However how do you know? Are their eyes more black or does the red go or does it change depending on the colour of the fish?

According to Martin Ng, Discus Catalogue which my better half got me from SLS for my bd:

1. eye-ring shapes: Round and semi-round

2. Eye-ring colours: Dark Red, Red, Orange, Yellow and Cream

3. Eyeballs Colour: Black and Maroon

However to answer your question if the eyes are cloudy, it usually means bacteria infection due to poor water quality. (Again taken from the book)
