When I was cleaning my tank recently I saw a few small white threadlike swimmers in my tank. they are white about a quarter of an inch long and swim like an S .I tried to take a picture of them but they are too small to photo. Anyone seen this before. I am not sure if they are some kind of worm or what they are. I am a pretty experianced breeder and I have never seen this. Any ideas and if so what should I use to get rid of them. I have about 16 tanks and these are appearing in 2 of them. All of my fish seem fine and are stil eating fine. I feed my own beefheart mix but don't think it is in the food or I would see them in all tanks

Appreciate any help you could give me

Sounds like Planaria, generally due to overfeeding or poor water conditions. If you cut or stop feeding for a day or two, do a good internal wipe down and several big water changes, after a few days you will have got rid of 95% of them.

If they swim around, like a cotton thread up to about an inch long, they are called Stylaria.
