Yes!!!! at last success. We have had our new trickle filter system of six tanks 750x350x400 set up and stocked with (4 breeding pairs 1 tank of 6 Juvies and 1x empty) for approx six weeks now with no sign of any breeding activity. Finally three nights ago one pair spawned, and this morning have wrigglers. Then last night two more pairs spawned and the last pair are this morning shimmying and cleaning. We were told that once one started they release a hormone into the water that gets the other fish started, is this correct?
The main question I have being inexperienced with trickle filter systems is if we continue with daily tank cleaning and replacement of water as we have been, will this stimulate them to want to spawn again and therfore eat their eggs/wriglers? Any advice on management in general of this trickle filter system would be appreciated. I can post photo's if anyone is interested.
