RO water

I have just ordered a RO unit from PSI filters, got a nice discount for being a member of this forum.

Having had quite a bit of trouble lately with sick and stressed fish, as far as I can see its all about water water water. I already have UV sterlisers so I think this is my next step.
So my question is what water parameters do others keep their fish at, how much RO to tap water. Is PH crashing a big problem? Should I get a KH test kit?
I found Peter from PSI filters a great help in explaining things to me, but would also like to know any tricks etc that others use.

Why do you want to mix with tap water? I am sure Peter told you not to.

Actually he told me to mix it about 75% RO and 25% tap and to get a TDS of about 100.

Did you get the ubit with the adjustable TDS?
