10 fish aim for a 500l tank, ideally go for a 650L 6x2x2 as for filtration go for 2 eheim 2217's, 3 would be better, these filters are EXCELLENT value for money!

I second that, great filters, and bulletproof.

For the filters, definitely go with the Eheim, I have an Eheim and a Fluval both on my 90 gal and the Fluval is very cheap and it is a pain in the media box area as they are all split in half its hard to load media easily, also the hose does not have a tight fitting on the inlet side and you will get an occasional burst of bubbles unless you seal it with silicone.

The larger tank will give them room to grow full size and if you are doing a planted tank you have much more room with he 24 inch depth for landscaping.
