Discus maintenance

Hello all,

I have a general question regrading tank maintenance, I’ve read on a few sites (U.S) where the owner/operators of discus tanks do a treatment for hex and fluke every so often.

This doesn’t seem like a good thing to me, why would you med fish for the fun of it, or is this something that should be done.

Is there any type of discus maintenance that should be done?

Hi:

It is important to keep the young discus healthy always...as any internal parasites will give rise to many problems including affecting their growth...

I do give my Angels and Discus "Metrogyl" treatment once in every six months till they grow fully...
