how much filtration

I have a 4x2x2 nearly ready for set up, now I am wondering about filtration. I have an ehiem 2217 and thought it would be enough. I also have a large internal ehiem that I used to use for my 3ft. Is this enough filtration or will I need another canister? Also I am reading conflicting information about how many discus can be kept in a tank that size. I will have 5 clown loaches,5 + cories 2 bristle nose a couple of whiptails and 5 female bettas how many discus can I add? Oh and I forgot a school of either rummy nose or cardinals. Thanks

add another 2217 you wont regret it as for stocking I'd go 6-7 discus in there with your bioload but no more than 8
