An old companion gone

I "had" a Blue Turquiose that has been in my tank for nearly nine years. Lately, he had been off color (pardon the pun), and today he just basically "shut down" before my eyes.

I hate losing a Discus, I kind of feel like "Have I done enough?". Could I have prevented it? Then I look at the other Discus in the tank and they look happy and well. So, I figure that maybe it was his time.

He was bossy and a bully at times, but he was beautiful!

It's so sad to lose an old friend, especially one you've had for so long.

Just be comforted by the fact that he had a long and happy life with you. You must have looked after him very well for him to have reached such a good age.
