OK I was recently infested with tape worms, or whatever levamisole cures, And use the leva stuff and it looked beter after the first treament. near the time I used the second treatment its poop was white and stringy, before it was white fuzzies around a brown poo. I used it and I my discus doesn't look that good after it this time. Really dark and stagnent. Should I give it more time to recover, its been 3 days, should I retreat it in like a week instead of 2 weeks?

Any help will be appreciated.

Sometimes a wormer will have the effect of stopping the fish from eating, just think about the last time you had a stomach upset. best you can do is keep up with lots of good clean water for now and monitor. Try to feed a little blood worm to see if that entices them to eat.

Hi there,

How come you ran a 2nd course of Levimisole?

It should only b needed mayb twice a yr
Its only a 48hr treatment isnt it with waterchange after that (off memory)
You say hes gone dark etc...
Mayb you have a secondary bacteria on board now?
Do you have any broad spectrum antibiotic around?

But just water change and monitor it with good water

Also have you read this ..very imformative on Levimisole

We always recommend a follow up dose of levamisole two weeks after the initial dose, so you've done the right thing ChiefZero.

Big daily water changes are what you need to do now, and just observe.

If your fish had a heavy worm infestation, the gut could well have been damaged by the worms, and it will take a few weeks for the gut to heal and the fish to feel fully recovered.
