im trying to work out what i should use on my discus tank as my water is to hard and the ph is to high, i have been thinking instead of using salt buffers is AZOO Double Black Water a better way to go?

You wont be able to lower the hardness with blackwater extract. Why do you need to? who advised this? What is your current ph and hardness now ?

Your Ph is spot on, do not mess with it. You can lower the hardness with an RO unit, this literally pulls everything out of the water to leave for all intents, distilled/demineralised water, you can then add your dechlorinated tap water to get the hardness buffering you require for breeding.
