Approximately 10 days ago I placed 4 A.Gibbiceps into a tank. A week later the female had chosen 1 of the 3 males. I then placed a ceramic cave into the tank in which she showed little, if any, interest. Wanting to make the habitat more complex so the 3 males wouldn't kill each other I placed additional items into the tank including a rock with a tiny thumb sized hollow. Within a day the female had deposited her eggs in this tiny hollow. PH<6
Today (3 days later) my A.Borelli (Opal), which I have had for approz a month also spawned underneath the entrance of a ceramic cave closely guarded by the 2 rivalling, interwinding males. PH 7.2
The 2 spawns in 3 days I admit is quite a surprise. The only thing I can attribute this to is perhaps I have sexy water here in Melbourne's Eastern suburbs ;-)
hmm, better go seed some more media, I'm gonna need a tank for homeless males heh heh heh
