Hi,
I am sandy from India. I am setting up a discus only display tank. I want to know what kind of filter you suggest for my tank.
tank dimension: 5feet*2feet*2feet= 150gallon (approx)
I plan to keep around 14-15 grownup discus.

I would like to opt for canister filter.
Since i am not very new to this hobby, i always have quite a few unused accessories with me. Presently I have the following filters lying unused with me:
1. Two Eheim 2217
2. One Eheim 2215
3. One Singapore made good quality Top filter. 1200L/H(runs below stated capacity)
4. Two large Boyu Sponge filters.

May you suggest which combination of filters to use from the above.

I would use all the Eheims on the one tank.

Have they got all the media in them ?

Starting from the bottom, noodles, course sponge, bio media, fine filter wool.

Cheers,

Mark

running all the eheims in a 150 gallon tank! Wont that create too much turbulence for the discus? I knew discus doesn't like turbulence!

I think the 1 2217 eheims has the capacity to handle the 150 gallons but you are just stocking your tank to capacity (1 discus to 10 gallons) so you really need to make sure that water is clean - 2 filters will do that for you. It is always good as a back up to. I have 2 on my 440 litre tank the turbulence isn't that bad it is aimed at breaking the surface.

Yep I would at least set up both the eheim 2217s on your tank and if you not using the 2215 I would hook that up as well. There is nothing like too much filtration in my opinion. I personally run two 2217s on a 200L tank.

With regards to turbulance make sure the spray bars face back onto the glass.
