2 %50 water changes in one day! can it be done?

hey all after getting my discus my nitrates are a little high, i have only had them for 1 day and have done 1 %50 waterchage, is it safe to do 2 water changes in one day? with cold water....

Preferably not with cold water. You don't want to drop the temperature of the tank by more than a degree or two.

Can you add some boiling water to the bucket of cold water before you add it to the tank.

When growing out young fry, we might do three or even 4 water changes a day, but each time we make sure the water is aged, dechlorinated and the same temperature as the tank.
