Metro Dosage Help

Hi everyone I have a quick question about dosage. So I have a pigeon blood 3" that was not eating for 3 weeks. Did the usual, temp to 89-90, 40% water changes daily. Nothing helped as was wasting away and I was not willing to treat the entire tank because all other discus were fine. So I deceided based upon talking to a breeder that I should force feed metro with food using a syringe. I have done this for 2 days and today I saw him eat a little flake food for the first time. My question is how long do I need to do the force feeding? SHould I stop now or do for a few more days? Has anyone else had this type of experience?

I think that is a very dodgy think to do, I have kept discus for many years and do not know anyone who would recommend 'force feeding,' specially someone with experience.
Discus can go off food for many reasons, with proper diagnosis, force feeding is the very last thing I would consider.
