injured/sick discus bump on forehead

Hi there guys,

was away for 2 days and when i came back one of my discus had a bump on his head and i think theres a kind of flesh wound. i've uploaded 2 pics of it, though their not very clear as its hard to get a good shot. can anyone help me on the diagnosis and treatment?

water conditions are fine, ammonia and nitrite are 0 and nitrates are 30-40

I'm no expert so i won't attempt a diagnosis, but while you're waiting for another response you should work on getting your nitrates down with water changes. That reading seems way too high for discus, and might be the cause of the problem

ok this does NOT look good, discus was fine and swimming up to an hour ago but now its hiding in the corner of the tank with its fins clamped and looks liek its having trouble breathing

is it hole in the head disease?

NEED HELP ASAP please

from the way the skin is flaking I would say you have hole in the head. Go to your local vet and get some metro. Ring tehm and see if they will give you metro from a photo or whether you will have to take the fish in.
Also take Merrilyns sticky post and make sure they get the dose right.
