hey all, i am going to buy a pair of discus, i am a beginner with them so i would like to ask a few questions. will 6.5 ph be good for them? and my tap water is a little on the hard side will i need a buffer or somthing for that to make the water softer? and any other advise please:)

Your ph is perfect, do not mess with it. if your water is a little on the hard side, then it is. My water is like concrete, but the fish are fine in it. Make sure you get your fish from a reputable dealer, preferably a sponsor here. They can help you with advice on your water, and might be able to condition a few fish for you, so there is not shock when you are ready to look after them.
Please do not rush into getting your fish, read all about water quality/changing requirements, food, and general maintenance.
Ask lots of questions. Do not rely on local fish shop advice!!

okay cheers, i am getting a pair of young Cobalt blue Discus breeding!
what is best for food for these guys and what sort of water changes should i do? how often? and how mutch?
