Hi All

I have some drift wood which I had in my previous tank for several years. After I shut down my old tank (A few months ago) the drift wood was left in a container to dry out.

I'm now looking at adding the drift wood to my new tank to give my discus a few more places to hide etc. Do I new to soak / clean as it the dirft wood was brand new?

I have just put it into my bath tube with some prime...

I would boil it in a pot to kill any bacteria in the wood. If its too big put it in a tub and cover it in boiling water and let it cool. The repeat the process once or twice.

After that you can just put it into the tank like xtreme has said and put a rock on top to stop it from floating.

If you don't want to put it straight in then you can soak it in a tub or bucket until it stops floating and then put it in the tank. This may take a week or more so its really upto you.
