pool filter sand

Does anyone use the UNICORN brand pool filter sand? I bought a 25kg 16/30 Grade bag of it today from clark rubber, bout the shopkeeper couldnt tell me if its silica based.. Does anyone have the same?
I am abit deterred by the company name- Cheetham salt ltd.. :?

Hello, this is the only sand Clark Rubber seem to be selling in Melbourne now..

I have used it and it is an interesting colour (looks much better under water and cleaned) and it is working just fine.. my fishies just love it..

and yes, the sales staff would have had no idea at all what you were talking about..

this post gives a place in cambellfield & glen waverley if you are tracking down a whiter sand. :wink:
